Other Addictions
There are many things that can get out of control in our lives. Some do not call these all "addictions." Our thought on this is that if a behavior is out of control in your life--if it is causing problems and you don't seem to be able to stop it--that behavior needs the same kind of help as any more widely recognized addiction.
Many Problems Afflict Us and Diminish the Quality of Our Lives
Some of the behaviors we haven't discussed on other pages include:
Overspending
Gambling
Overspending
Overwork ("Workaholism")
Overuse of Video Games
Internet Addiction (apart from Pornography Addiction)
Overinvolvement in Church Work
As you can see from the list above, any behavior, even very laudable or praiseworthy activies, can become a problem if indulged in to excess, or in order to avoid other important responsibilities.
All These Problems Have a Common Solution
The solution to all these problems as well as any addiction we talk about elsewhere on this website, comes through turning our hearts and souls (our desires) over to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Seeking personal revelation and guidance to know how to balance our different activities is an essential key to finding peace in this world of multiple responsibilites, stresses and distractions.
