The 12 Steps orignated with Alcoholics Anonymous, and their literature is the bedrock upon which all other 12 Step programs and efforts are founded. It is refreshing to return to these basic texts and read the program as it was taught in its purity.

The AA "Big Book"

Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
The AA "12 & 12" is a great resource. It describes each one of the 12 Steps in more detail and applies them to everyday life. The Traditions are the principles that has kept AA functioning for over 80 years.

This book is subtitled: "The spiritual adventure of A. A. as experienced by individual members." It is a collection of essays by members of AA describing the spiritual nature of the recovery journey. While these people come from a variety of backgrounds, the fact of their recognition of a need for God is universal, and universally appealing.
Living Sober
Moving from a life of addiction and acting out to a life of abstinence is a tremendous and challenging change. Many questions arise as to how one is now to live in a way to encourage the continuance of sobriety. This collection of essays explains the experience of many members of A.A have used to avoid a return to drinking.
